My Crafting Process

Depending on the style each rosary can take from 1-4 hours of focussed work from making the medals, to choosing the components, to fitting it all together.

Sourcing the materials

I spend many enjoyable hours searching for stones that are beautiful and would inspire me to pray. Some suppliers I turn to again and again as I know I can trust their products, but I'm always on the look out for that extra special bead or part.

Choosing a centrepiece

The medallion is the heart of the rosary. I keep a small collection of antique and new pieces — St Thérèse, Our Lady of Walsingham, the Sacred Heart — and pair each with beads that suit its tone.

Threading by hand

Knotted or wire-wrapped, sometimes crimped. I still remember the elation of finishing my first wire-wrapped bead. Every bead since has been set with the same care, ensuring it is pleasant to hold and pray with.

Blessing & dispatch

Once finished, each rosary is checked over and prayed with before being wrapped carefully, tucked into a mailing box, and sent on its way with a handwritten note.
